Healthful tips | Alcohol can make you dumb

Alcohol not only harms your liver in the long run, but it also causes what is known as 'brain fog'. Brain fog refers to a feeling of mental confusion, like a cloud that impacts your ability to think clearly. Several studies show that alcohol abuse can lead to brain damage, difficulty walking, blurred vision, slurred speech, slowed reaction times, impaired memory - forgetting names, items, certain events, why you went into the room, whether an event was real or a dream, etc. A person who drinks heavily over a long period of time may have brain deficits that persist well after he or she achieves sobriety. High alcohol intake impacts the balance of the brain. Fortunately, these symptoms are reversible once you stop consuming alcohol or limit your intake to one or two drinks per week.
