Thirty-one students - 17 boys and 14 girls - have been awarded five-year scholarships by the Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), in recognition of their outstanding performance in this year's Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT). They were officially recognised as JN Scholars at a Scholarship Awards Reception at the Knutsford Court Hotel on September 14.

Fourteen students were awarded for being among the top performers in their respective parish, three for being participants in the JN School Savers programme, and 14 are children of JN Group employees.

These awards are in addition to the 101 existing scholarships at the secondary level, issued during the past four years, and which are renewable annually; as well as 15 scholarships to students at the University of the West Indies, Mona; the University of Technology, Jamaica; and Northern Caribbean University.
