WILL THE INCREASED POLICE DEPLOYMENT FOR THE YULETIDE SEASON MAKE YOU FEEL SAFER?

  • Susan, Clarendon

I will definitely feel safer with more police personnel on the streets. We are now approaching the very busy time of year where many persons will be carrying out commercial activities, especially in the town, and the presence of extra police will give persons a sense of security.

  • Nordia, Clarendon

It is absolutely necessary to deploy more police on the streets because a lot of people will be out trying to make a living. This time of year is where a lot of robbers and pickpockets roam the streets, so additional police on the streets will make me feel safer.

  • Sanjay Pinnock, Portland

The deployment of additional police officers on the streets will definitely provide residents with comfort while shopping. Robberies occur frequently during the festive season, and with the presence of the police, residents can feel at ease to shop. This will also be a deterrent to would-be robbers.

  • Althia Loban, Portland

I welcome the decision made by the Police High Command to deploy additional police officers to the nation's streets during this festive season. People shop a lot during this time of year but not without some levels of fear of being robbed. With the presence of police officers, I am confident that residents will feel more comfortable and secure while conducting business.

  • Monique Davis, Manchester

Not necessarily. We're in as much danger with police around as we are when they aren't because they abuse their power.

  • Ayana Forbes, Manchester

I don't know of anytime I've felt any more safe because of the presence of an officer. They're just uniformed spectators.
