Ebola town hall meeting this afternoon

The Ministry of Health is inviting members of the public to a town hall meeting in Half-Way Tree's Mandela Park this afternoon at 6 p.m., as it continues its public education and awareness campaign on Ebola.

Among the issues to be discussed are the ministry's Ebola Preparedness and Response Plan; the responsibility of individuals in Ebola preparedness and response; as well as the protocols in place for Ebola and how they will affect persons. Ministry officials will also give a situational analysis of chikungunya (chik-V) for the respective regions and information on the management of chik-V. The first meeting in the series was held last week at the Ocho Rios High School in St Ann.

Other meetings will take place in Manchester on December 10 at the Cecil Charlton Hall, in Mandeville, at 5:30 p.m. and in St James on December 11 in Sam Sharpe Square, Montego Bay, at 3 p.m.
