TWO CHILDREN, ages six and eleven years old, yesterday drowned in a pool of water in Brown's Town, St Ann.

Head of the St Ann Police, Superintendent Yvonne Martin-Daley, confirmed the incident, but at the time had not ascertained their identities.

"It's such a tragic situation," Martin-Daley told The Gleaner.

She said based on reports received so far the two children were at home playing when they fell from a swing.

According to Martin-Daley, they landed in a pool of water caused by the recent heavy rains in the parish.

She said another child saw them struggling in the water and went to alert an adult, but when they returned, it was too late.
