The Police are today expected to make an official statement on their investigation into death threats allegedly made against Opposition Leader Andrew Holness and Jamaica Labour Party General Secretary Dr Horace Chang.

"By tomorrow, we should be in a position to speak definitively on it," offered Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, head of the Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) when contacted for an update on the investigation yesterday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Glenmore Hinds indicated that security has been beefed up around the two politicians as the police continue their investigation.

"What I can say is that the matter is being investigated," said Hinds. "They (investigators) are doing some work around the information, but I've not had a briefing today."
