Traffic was diverted in the vicinity of Gordon House on Duke Street yesterday as members of the Jamaica Defence Force, including the First Batallion The Jamaica Regiment, went through a rehearsal in preparation for the ceremonial opening of Parliament tomorrow, which marks the start of the 2015-2016 parliamentary year.

Members of the House of Representatives will join their colleagues in the Senate to mark the occasion, which is usually coloured with pomp and pageantry.

Governor General Sir Patrick Allen will present the Throne Speech setting out the Government's agenda for the new legislative year, as well as the administration's plans for the fiscal year.
