THE INDEPENDENT Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has stepped up its probe into an incident in which a suspect in the murder of Woman Constable Crystal Thomas was found unconscious in cell number eight at the Hunt's Bay Police Station in St Andrew.

The oversight body says it has interviewed all nine police officers who were on the shift when the suspect was found unconscious.

INDECOM has also interviewed all prisoners who were present at the station. The commission is also perusing station records that it has copied.

Constable Thomas was killed on July 14 after gunmen commandeered a bus she boarded metres from the Denham Town Police Station where she worked.

She was shot three times in the face after she tried to foil a robbery attempt.
