One more murder in Clarendon
The blood letting is continuing in the central Jamaica parish of Clarendon with another taxi operator killed last night.
Thirty one year old Orville Eccleston otherwise known as 'Mark', a resident of Bucks Heights in the parish was one of two men shot when gunmen opened fire on persons playing cards inside a shop last night.
Eccleston was shot in the head and left leg and died while undergoing treatment at hospital. Up to press time no details were released on the injuries of the second man who was also taken to hospital with gunshot wounds.
Police investigators are yet to determine a motive for the latest shooting in the parish where 85 persons have been murdered since the start of the year however some residents are worried that taxi operators might be targeted.
The residents note that last month another taxi operator, Anthony Morgan, was killed while transporting passengers.
It was reported that the gunmen boarded the taxi posing as passengers and killed Morgan without leaving any clue as to why he was murdered.
Two 19 year olds have since been arrested and charged for that murder.
