Jamaica College to host presentation on raising boys tomorrow
Parents are being invited to a special presentation titled 'Raising Boys' tomorrow in the Karl Hendrickson Auditorium at Jamaica College (JC) on Old Hope Road in St Andrew.
It will begin at 4 p.m.
The speaker will be the well-known and well-respected educator, motivational speaker and clergyman, Pastor Wesley Boynes, who is the chairman and founder of the Northgate Youth and Family Development Foundation.
The presentation will form part of the first 2016 general meeting of the Jamaica College Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).
In accepting the PTA's invitation, Boynes said, "The focus on guiding young boys into manhood is a really important and extremely critical issue and I am very happy to know that this is a priority at your school. A nation really cannot go beyond the development status of its men."
Betty Stephenson-Ashley, a vice-president of the PTA at JC, said tomorrow's transformation session is being held with the hope of providing some amount of guidance to parents on how to raise their boys.
Said Stephenson-Ashley: "The first stage of the transformation begins in the home, and with the parents. It is against this background that we seek Pastor Boynes' expertise and assistance in addressing parents."
She is making a special appeal to parents and guardians of boys, especially JC parents, to attend tomorrow's presentation.
