Senior Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for St Andrew North Central Karl Samuda yesterday sought medical attention from former People's National Party politician and medical practitioner Dr Jepthah Ford after he fell and suffered minor injuries while on his way to be nominated.

When The Gleaner first caught up with Samuda on Mannings Hill Road, the JLP politician was immersed in a circle of green as enthusiastic supporters belted out party slogans.

However, later in the afternoon, Samuda was seen with a bruise on the right side of his face and elbow.

He told The Gleaner that he received a stitch for the cut on his face from Ford, whose office is located near Samuda's constituency office.

Samuda said that while he was travelling with the throng of party faithful, someone accidentally hit his foot and he fell.

The MP shrugged off the injury concerns, saying that he was doing OK.

Samuda was nominated at the Mamby Park Baptist Church on Constant Spring Road.
