Liberty Global completes acquisition of Cable and Wireless Plc
Liberty Global today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Cable & Wireless Communications Plc (CWC) which trades in Jamaica under the Flow brand.
The transaction valued at approximately US$7.4 billion.
Liberty Global says the CWC business will now fall under its Latin American and Caribbean group otherwise called the LiLAC Group.
It says the combined business will serve 10 million customers in more than 20 countries.
In a statement this afternoon, Liberty Global’s CEO Mike Fries said this is a big moment for the company.
According to Fries says Liberty will be using the next six months to evaluate how best to structure and integrate CWC into the LiLAC Group and jointly explore new opportunities for growth and expansion.
Just over a year ago, CWC acquired Columbus International Inc, which owned Flow networks in Jamaica and other countries.
