FLOW study now 'in-session' - Telecommunications firm launches new study portal for customers
As thousands of students across Jamaica prepare for the upcoming Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) mathematics examination, telecommunications firm FLOW has opened access to its newly launched online study portal - FLOW Study.
In addition, FLOW Study will be staging an all-nighter study session today via its Twitter social media page that will allow students to tweet in their problems and receive a direct response from a qualified mathematics teacher.
The study session will be powered by One on One Educational services.
Available online via PCs and smart devices via the FLOW Study Android App, the FLOW Study portal offers 24/7 access to video-based online courses, virtual science labs, question banks and solutions, and past paper solutions for more than 32 high-school subject areas.
The portal will be accessible free of cost for both FLOW and non-FLOW customers for two weeks covering the duration of the examination period. Thereafter, the free service will be available for FLOW customers via an account number, while non-FLOW customers will access the platform via paid subscription.
According to Kayon Wallace, director of corporate communications and stakeholder management, FLOW is revolutionising the learning experience and opening up a realm of possibilities, opportunities and educational success for Jamaican students using technology.
In explaining the mathematics focus, Wallace explained: "The CXC-CSEC mathematics is one of the most important and far-reaching subjects, and one with which some students tend to struggle. Our FLOW Study partner, One on One Educational Services, has for years prepared students for the CSEC mathematics exam, and has maintained a 100 per cent pass rate for the subject among its students, with an average of 83 per cent attaining a grade one."
Through the FLOW Study platform, FLOW is giving students the opportunity to get additional help with those difficult areas or do general revision in time for the examination tomorrow, as well as prepare for other upcoming CSEC & CAPE exams.
To get started, students can visit www.flowstudy.co and click 'login' to register for a free FLOW ID, which is necessary to access the learning materials. Persons can also download the FLOW Study app on their mobile device from the Google Play Store to register for a FLOW ID and access learning material. For the two-week trial, students will require an email address to register.
On Tuesday evening, students are also invited to join FLOW's Twitter pages @flowjamaica for the study session with the team from One on One Educational Services Ltd.
