Co-founder and CEO of the Caribbean International Network (CIN) Stephen Hill and Earl Jarrett, general manager of Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS), have been selected to receive significant awards at the Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Golden Krust Foundation's Annual Excellence Gala.

The gala is slated for the VIP Country Club in New Rochelle, New York, on July 14.

Hill will be awarded the Visionary Award because of his outstanding and documented impact on Caribbean culture. For the past 24 years, Hill, through CIN and other initiatives, has made efforts to spread and endorse Caribbean culture in North America.

In a release, CIN said it offers the burgeoning Jamaican and Caribbean population in the Big Apple a full range of news, sports, drama, and music programming and has recently been measured as the most viewed Caribbean channel in New York.

The Hope Media Research Group, which conducted the survey, endorsed CIN as the "The Genuine Voice of the Caribbean".

Jarrett, leader of JNBS's growth over the last 18 years, will be receiving the Business Excellence Award at this year's event.

Hill and Jarrett will be recognised alongside Robert Holland Jr, Colvin Grannum, Neil Foster, and Dr Marcella Maxwell.

The Mavis & Ephraim Hawthorne Golden Krust Foundation was established in 2005 in honour of Mavis and Ephraim Hawthorne, parents of the current owners of the Golden Krust Bakery and Grill.

This community-based foundation is committed to giving time and support to communities in the United States and the Caribbean through scholarships as well as social services.
