Shaunti knew she'd take the Trelawny title

Shaunti was coached by her father, Rainford Reid, who is a teacher and her mother, Mary Reid, who is from India and isn't a fluent speaker of the language. She loves English, mathematics, geography and science. She is a part of the environmental club. She loves playing the keyboard, she has been playing for two years and her favourite song to play is the Pink Panther theme song. She is 10 years old and is in grade six.

Shaunti on winning: "I was so excited! My father, my mom, friends and family encouraged me and I just want to thank them for all that they've done for me. I knew I could do it. I always win."

Mother (coach): "I was full of confidence that she was going to win, because she always wins in school competitions."
