Jemoy to retire as a winner

Jemoy Jarrett, of Bethel Primary and Junior High, is The Gleaner's Children's Own Spelling Bee champion for Hanover.

Lucea, Hanover:

Sixth-grader Jemoy, who won in 2013 and 2014 but lost the title last year, told his coach he wanted to leave school as champion for the parish. The championship trophy was retired to his school.

Jemoy on winning: "I feel happy."

Coach on winning: "I am elated and I think I'm getting used to it. I am a six-time parish champion coach and I feel good about it."
