Police kill six alleged gunmen in St James shootout

The police have identified three of the six alleged gunmen who were last night shot dead in a gun battle‎ in the rural St James community of Goodwill, near the Trelawny border.

The police say the three were among the most wanted criminals in St James and had also been wreaking havoc in Barrett Town, Trelawny.‎

The alleged gunmen are: Marlon Samuels otherwise called Buju; Dino Pryce alias Shabba; and Oswin Jarrett ‎popularly called Ski Mask.

Jarrett was the reputed leader of the Ski Mask Gang.

The police say about 9.30 last night, a group of cops and soldiers ‎ was on a joint operation in Goodwill last night when ‎they signalled a taxi to stop.

They say the car stopped a some of the men got out an opened fire.

It was immediately returned killing the six.‎

Two cops were also injured in the reported shootout.

They police say four 9mm pistols were also seized.

‎Up to this morning, investigators were processing the scene including the bullet-riddled taxi in which the men were travelling as well as a Mitsubishi SUV that was being driven by soldiers.
