The schedule is as follows:

Residents of the parishes of Kingston, St Andrew, St Catherine, and St Thomas will be accommodated at a date to be announced.

The JDF is urging persons not to show up at recruiting locations that are outside of their parishes, as they will not be processed.

Applicants are being advised to fill out the JDF application form online at before heading to any of the recruitment centres.

Persons 18-23 years old are welcome to apply. Individuals up to 25 years old, with tertiary qualifications, are also encouraged to apply. Each applicant must be unmarried and a Jamaican citizen.

"It's a wonderful career, and you get to serve your country. A time like this when the country's national security problems are front and centre, I think it's admirable that any young man or woman would want to get involved in trying to change that outcome," said Major Basil Jarrett, head of the JDF's Civil Military Cooperation and Media Affairs Unit.

(EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that tertiary educated persons 25 years and older were being invited to apply. Those tertiary educated persons being invited are in fact individuals up to 25 years old.)
