MANDEVILLE, Manchester‎:
A 27-year-old deportee accused of  stealing $20 million worth antique furniture and other items belonging to a returned resident ‎is to reappear in the Manchester Circuit Court Thursday.

Vandrene Hu‎tchinson was remanded when he appeared in the Manchester Circuit Court today.

By that time, Hutchinson, who is representing himself, should have reviewed documents he received today.

‎The crown alleges that in October 2015, Hutchinson was hired as the caretaker of a house belonging to a returned resident on Upper Mount Nelson Boulevard in Mandeville.

It is believed that between that time and September 2016 while the 81-year-old home owner was overseas seeking medical attention, Hutchinson removed numerous items, some of which were still packaged having only recently been shipped.

A neighbour became suspicious and contacted the owner overseas.

The matter was later reported to the police and Hutchinson arrested and charged.

In court today, one witness and the investigating officer testified and were later cross-examined by Hutchinson.‎
