Flash flood watch extended

Published:Tuesday | December 12, 2017 | 9:56 AM
Flash flooding is possible over some low-lying and flood prone areas of northern and southeastern parishes.

The Meteorological Service has continued the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Hanover, St. James, Trelawny, St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland, St. Thomas, Kingston and St. Andrew.

It will remain in place until 5 o’clock this afternoon.

The Met Office says a Stationary Front remains across Jamaica and is expected to continue to influence weather conditions across the island today.

The forecast is for mostly cloudy conditions with periods of showers and possible thunderstorms to continue affecting sections of most parishes, especially northern and south eastern parishes throughout the day.

Flash flooding is therefore possible over some low-lying and flood prone areas of northern and south eastern parishes.
