Spanish Town link road stoplight to be recommissioned

Published:Wednesday | December 13, 2017 | 11:11 AM

The Spanish Town link road and Windsor Road intersection in St Catherine will once again be managed by traffic signals when the National Works Agency (NWA) recommissions the lights today.

The lights have not been working for more than a year after some 400 meters of cable were stolen.

NWA Customer Services and Communications Manager Stephen Shaw says the NWA spent approximately $3.4 million to repair the traffic signal and has taken additional steps to make it tamper-proof.

The replacement of the traffic signals at the Spanish Town link road and Windsor Road intersection forms part of the NWA’s overall $44 million plan to signalise a number of busy intersections island-wide.
