Pass mark for GSAT day one
Day one of two for the Grade Six Achievement Test (GSAT) went fairly smoothly, the education ministry has reported.
Yesterday's sitting saw more than 39,000 students across 1,089 centres completing the mathematics and social studies portion of the exam.
The ministry reported that more than 300 of those children were special needs and were adequately provided for across all regions.
Seven children also sat the exam while in hospital.
"From all reports, the exams started on time and experienced only minor glitches which were quickly resolved," said a ministry official.
The students will today complete language arts, communication task and science.
