Earl Blake to represent PNP in May Pen North by-election
Earl Blake will be nominated as the candidate for the People's National Party (PNP) today at the St Gabriel's Anglican Church Hall in May Pen.
The decision was made after Vivian Allen and Blake, who both offered themselves as candidates, underwent an interview with the party's Region Four selection panel, with Blake, who hails from Race Track, proving to be the stronger of the two.
The May Pen North division was left vacant following the passing of the Jamaica Labour Party's (JLP) Melvin Jones on December 24 last year.
Blake will be going up against the JLP's Tanya-Lee Williams in the April 27 polls.
The JLP now holds 13 divisions in the Clarendon Municipal Corporation to the PNP's eight.
