Senator Norman Grant (centre), president of the Jamaica Agriculture Society (JAS) Kingston and St Andrew Chapter converses with farmers during registration for the 96th Annual General Meeting of the chapter at the Jamaica Horticultural Society offices in Hope Pastures on Tuesday. A court injunction prevented the meeting from electing a new president. Grant told The Gleaner that “unfortunately, a member has filed an injunction to say that his application had been rejected (to participate in the elections). So we are obeying the injunction." The first hearing will be in court on June 18. Grant, who is also president of the JAS, revealed that he would not be seeking re-election for that position come July 11.
