A two-year-old remains critical in hospital following a three-vehicle collision that also claimed the life of a pedal cyclist along Allan Avenue in Port Antonio, Portland, Saturday night.

Forty-year-old musician Chadwick Buchanan, who goes by the stage name 'Dirtyless', died on the spot after he was hit by a grey Toyota Wish motor car driven by Jermaine Morgan of Anchovy Land Settlement in the parish.

According to Detective Inspector Linton Bailey, the driver of the Toyota Wish is now in a stable condition at hospital and will be questioned by the police on Monday.

"Clearly, this particular accident was as a result of speeding," said Bailey.

"A life has been taken and several persons, including a two-year-old child, remain at hospital. We continue to implore motorists to drive within the prescribed speed limit."

Shortly before 9:30 p.m., a Toyota Wish, driven by Morgan, with two persons aboard, was travelling westerly towards Port Antonio when it reportedly slammed into a white Toyota Fielder taxi, which was making a right turn to Smart Road.

Police sources said that after crashing into the Toyota Fielder, the Toyota Wish hit Buchanan from his bicycle. It then collided with a grey Daihatsu Mira, driven by a woman, as she reportedly sought desperately to avoid the accident.
