The nominees for the Best Reggae Album category for the 61st annual Grammy Awards were announced yesterday. They are:

Reggae Forever - Etana

As The World Turns - Black Uhuru

- Rebellion Rises - Ziggy Marley

- A Matter of Time - Protoje

- 44/876 - Sting & Shaggy

"Congratulations to all the nominees, but I must make special mention of Etana, who has become the first woman in several years to be nominated for the Reggae Grammy. This is a welcome recognition of her many years of hard work and excellent music," said Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport Olivia Grange.

The minister also praised Protoje, who was receiving his first nomination.

"Protoje is another young reggae artiste making a significant mark on the music. We can all be proud [of] his achievements," Grange said.

The Grammy Awards will be presented in February 2019.

"Each of this year's nominees is deserving of this honour, and I look forward to the announcement of the winner in the new year," said the minister.
