Put a stop to animal cruelty
Put a stop
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Animals are just like you and me, created by the Supreme Being. They play a vital role in this world but, sometimes, if not often, they're maltreated. They experience cruelty.
There are people who forget that animals also have a life to protect and feelings to be hurt. They may not have the ability to talk intelligibly, but they have their own way to convey their feelings. However, many fail to understand because they don't care about them.
Animals deserve the love and care of humans. I encourage everyone, especially kids, to read Roger Williams' book about animal cruelty, titled Turn Back Blow.
Furthermore, animal welfare is everybody's concern. Thereby, the Jamaican Government should do something to stop the rampant animal cruelty in the country. If the Government continues to ignore the situation, it would truly affect the tourism industry, as most tourists are animal lovers.
