Kudos to Abka for resisting boorish Medley

I read with interest Abka Fitz-Henley's recount ('Media hogs we are not, Martin Henry', December 3, 2014, Gleaner), of what transpired at the recent Jamaica House press briefing and learnt that Mr Medley had also made attempts to wrest the mic from him, but he would have none of it.

Kudos to you, Mr Fitz-Henley. I love your fearless, principled spirit and your refusal to cower. More journalists need to take a page out of your book in that regard.

Sadly, Mr Medley's boorish, high-handed, dictatorial behaviour did not elicit any show of disapproval from the de facto information minister. Given that at no time did Sandrea Falconer seem to indicate to Mr Medley that he should desist, we can only conclude that she saw nothing wrong with his behaviour.

This Government continues to demonstrate a lack of respect for the Jamaican people. But, let me remind them that 2016 is not far off, and it might just be that when dem tink a peace an safety, sudden destruction!
