Comparing Lisa to Lucifer? The devil never looked sexier!
THE EDITOR, Sir:
First, I would like to declare that I am an unrepentant and hardcore Catholic. Catholicism is in my DNA.
Second, my admiration for Father Richard Ho Lung cannot be described in words. He is a lofty giant among men. His je ne sais quoi is extraordinary. His contribution to the uplifting of the poor, his personal spirituality, and his artistic accomplishments separate him from the ordinary. Jamaica stands proud because of his unusual generosity and unselfishness.
However, his vituperative onslaught against Lisa Hanna is out of character and unworthy of such an iconic human being. To compare Ms Hanna's picture to the fall of Lucifer from Heaven would baffle even the most erudite
theologian or philosopher.
Lisa Hanna is unquestionably one of the most beautiful Jamaican women we have ever seen. She was made beautiful by God. She is a gift to Jamaica. She does not deserve the vitriolic treatment she received from Fr Ho Lung.
I do not wish to be unkind to a priest I admire so much, but could the inevitable cerebral decline of old age be responsible for his acerbic remarks?
I must admit, in the midst of the firestorm about Ms Hanna's image in swimwear, I was very disappointed with the picture. Why did she have to wear the T-shirt? In so doing, she deprived the nation, if not the world, of seeing how really beautiful she really is.
