Jamaica has no national dish

The Sunday Gleaner of February 8, 2015 carried the story 'Pricey salt fish leaves the national dish', written by Nadine Wilson-Harris.
For more years than I can recall, we have been referring to ackee and salt fish as the national dish. Well, we have no national dish.
We have a national fruit, the ackee. We have for years been marrying the fruit with salt fish as the national dish.
The story also mentioned that ackee and salt fish was ranked No. 2 by National Geographic on its top 10 list of the world's best national dishes in 2013. But, it has to be debated in Parliament, agreed to and gazetted to be called the national dish.
