If there's no leak, you're meter's broken!
This is an open letter to the National Water Commission, 4 Marescaux Road, Kingston 5, regarding account number 1058953-1058943.
At the time of writing this letter, February 20, 2015, I am yet to receive a bill for January 2015.
Knowing that my bills may be due, I decided to check online. To my surprise, I saw that my due amount was a whopping $72,374.06!
I called your office and was told that an inspection was done on January 27, 2015, and there was no indication of any leakage. I also received a letter on Friday, February 20, wherein mention was made of the inspection.
Having visited your offices, I was told that my invoice is correct - that was not surprising. I requested a copy of my bill, and was told it was not on the system because "it was not sent over". Like seriously.
I also requested a copy of the report, and was told it's not available for customers because it's an internal document.
I again visited your website and saw that my bill consumption is as follows:
Month 1 J$79,374.06
Month 2 J$7,684.86
Month 3 J$31,462.27
Sirs, clearly at some point in time, common sense must either trump bureaucracy.
I hereby request that you send someone to immediately rectify this issue, and to check the functionality of the meter.
I would also like an explanation as to what this month 1, 2 and 3 is about.
I could understand a fluctuation in my consumption, but NOT of this magnitude. Something is clearly wrong, and it's not my consumption.
