Pedestrians need to be educated too
THE EDITOR, Sir:
It is all well and good to want to find ways and means of decreasing the number of deaths on the island's roadways. The government wants to implement measures to help in decreasing the number of deaths on the Braco leg of the North Coast Highway, for the safety of the motorists. But what about the pedestrians who are also a part of the problem in not using the roadways across the country properly? Some persons just step out into the road without looking or waiting for the vehicles to stop.
You can't look to implement measures for one group and leave out the other as both have to work in conjunction with each other. There are far too many persons, especially the young men, who love to speed race on the roadway, having no regard for lives.
