Campion stars in cricket, quiz

Published:Wednesday | April 1, 2015 | 12:00 AM

I would like to congratulate Campion College on placing third in this year's Schools' Challenge Quiz competition. This achievement has been memorable because they made the final last year and almost won. This year, they beat the same team and achieved third place.

I consider this to be a remarkable achievement on their part because the last time Campion entered the competition prior to 2012 was in 1981, where they lost in the quarter-finals to Hampton School. They have not entered since, and I was told that they did not have a structured Schools' Challenge programme until 2012.

The team comprises one fifth-former, two fourth-formers and a lower sixth-former (the captain). I know they will be a force to reckon with next year!

They also won their first ISSA-Grace Shield title in 27 years! Campion was well regarded as belonging in the academia world, but now they prove that they are well-rounded in their ambitions.

Once again, congratulations, Campion, on such a notable achievement!
