Remember us in Red Hills Gardens

Published:Thursday | April 9, 2015 | 12:00 AM

THE EDITOR, Sir:

How I wish President Obama were travelling to my lowly community. Perhaps then the Government would decide the roads in Red Hills Gardens, particularly Three Views Avenue, were worthy to be fixed.

Who is the councillor for this forsaken area of Kingston? We've been trying to determine if it is Lee Clarke, of the St Andrew North Central division of Whitehall, or Ian Telfer, of the St Andrew North Western division of Hughenden. Or is this community in No Man's Land, with no one assuming direct responsibilities for its problems?

We have spoken at length about the poor condition of the roads; we have implored the authorities not to relegate us to the dump heap, as this road is highly trafficked and deteriorating each day with heavy usage and heavy downpours. Between the potholes/craters and the huge garbage trucks that often park on the sidewalks (another issue that needs to be addressed) motorists have difficulty in navigating these roads, and the Government has the gall to fix already functional roads in front of Jamaica House. What utter nonsense and unfairness!
