Don't yield to pro-gay rant

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I write in response to Gordon Robinson's column on Sunday, April 12, 2015. He makes the typically simplistic analysis of the buggery law being about "peeping into persons' bedrooms".

While he is either truly or deliberately ignorant of the wider legal, social and political implications of removing this law, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller is to be commended for her cautious approach.

Removal of the buggery law is the first and necessary step to begin societal reorganisation that includes same-sex marriage, same-sex adoption, and denying children the rights to a mother and father. Jamaica should be grateful for Mrs Simpson Miller's more considered intellectual approach to this issue than the rash and superficial analysis Mr Robinson has proffered.
