Kudos to O'Hara's legal team

As I read The Gleaner's online coverage on Michael O'Hara being allowed to compete at the Penn Relays in Pennsylvania, I felt proud to be a Jamaican.

I don't know the details on the case in terms of what would have led to this victory, but I feel proud to see that a well-respected international sporting body made a ruling concerning one of our promising young athletes. Instead of sitting back and giving up, O'Hara's team challenged what I felt was an unwarranted ban by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association. What's more, they were successful!

I hope this is a lesson to ISSA - that even though it might not view itself as a world-class body (which is evident in how it operates), it doesn't mean its officials have to sit and take whatever is dished out to them, simply because it's coming from an international body.

Now Jamaica can watch O'Hara and all the other Jamaican boys and girls as they proudly represent their 'likkle but tallawah' country in foreign.

Kudos to Michael O'Hara's legal team.
