Carolyn Cooper always on an ego trip
THE EDITOR, Sir:
Bravo to Professor Colin Gyles on his response ('Carolyn Cooper and the UWI cartel, Gleaner, April 28, 2015). I tho-roughly enjoyed his recent article.
Professor Cooper's ego far outpaces her alleged intelligence. This is the same person who, while advocating that Patois be the official language of Jamaica, communicates in the Queen's language while abroad.
Her hypocrisy is second only to her hubris.
Professor Cooper and her ilk fail to realise that if they were living in a First World country such as the United States, they would be nothing but an insignificant blip on the radar.
It is obvious that UTech's success has struck a nerve with the UWI cartel members - as well it should. When there is no competition, mediocrity inevitably sets in.
Continue to strive for excellence, Professor Gyles. UTech is better for it.
P.S. The UWI is my alma mater, too.
