Fayval Williams brings economic savvy to JLP

It is not very often that I am impressed with politicians - how they behave and their levels of argument and intelligence. I must, however, confess that I am particularly pleased with the Jamaica Labour Party's deputy spokeswoman on finance, Fayval Williams.

It would be very hard to argue that Ms Williams has the potential to help Jamaica in her pet area - economics. I have seen few others than Ms Williams who have been able to blow away smokescreens in the form of technical and confusing numbers offered as commentary by Ralston Hyman.

Andrew Holness and the JLP must recognise that Ms Williams has been a godsend and they should cherish her. These are the people we should promote and encourage to step up in leadership positions so that their talents can be of benefit to the country.

I would not be surprised if Ms Williams became the JLP's finance minister and the first female to hold the position. After all, she has demonstrated that she has the capacity to do an awesome job.
