Stop violence against our children now

Published:Thursday | May 7, 2015 | 12:00 AM

I cry, I scream, I sigh, I bawl, I am dumbfounded, I am perturbed, I am concerned, I am just wondering. I ask over and over, when, oh, when will the few vicious persons who are slaughtering our future Jamaica - God's masterpieces, our young children - stop doing those horrendous acts?

Every time I hear or read or see what is being done to these children, it breaks my heart to witness another young Jamaican life being slaughtered in the most horrible manner. The best farmer, the best artist, the best teacher, the best preacher, the best carpenter - the future - the best person with the best potential who would grow and develop to be what Almighty God created that young person to be.

When will the majority of us who are well thinking Jamaicans rise to challenge and stop those who are bent on destroying young, vibrant, energetic, creative, courageous, curious, wide-eyed and full-of-fun young lives.

We do not have to do any research or pay anyone to tell us that our people are our most valuable resources, especially the future generation our young girls and boys.

I am firmly am convinced that now is the time for us to arise and claim victory over the forces of evil that continue to infiltrate our beloved country, Jamaica, land we love.
