Did Brer Anancy write that proposal?

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I just heard of a proposal written by the People's National Party (PNP) to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) regarding the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ) and I believe somebody said Brer Anancy wrote it.

I hear that a minister of announcements told the JLP to do something akin to chopping off its offending right hand, then the same JLP should turn the other cheek and remove the left hand, too! I hear the truly legal document, laden with 'Whereas' this and that, enticed the said JLP officials to secretly sign on the dotted lines and not say a word to the media. Big mistake, for even Brer Anancy knows a good media man may have helped to frame the letter!

Anyway, I hear the 'Whereas/

Whereto' paper further stated that after the JLP signed, Jamaica would get the referendum to decide on CCJ membership as long as there's no canvassing

for votes and no 'yea' or 'nay' persuasions.

What were the legal luminaries drinking, Mr Editor? Could it be the heavily advertised bull's potion or could it be Anancy's Shandy?
