Caribbean Airlines first checked bag is always free on all routes

Coming out of The Gleaner's article of May 13, by Andre Poyser: 'Airline Baggage fees on the rise', I would be grateful for the opportunity to clarify that Caribbean Airlines' new baggage policy which took effect on April 15, 2015 allows all passengers travelling on Caribbean Airlines a free first checked bag (up to 50 pounds).

This includes passengers travelling between North America and the Caribbean as well as London.

Additionally, Caribbean Airlines' rate of US$25 plus taxes for a second checked bag, up to 50 lbs (for non-flexible & semi-flexible economy passengers) is one of the lowest in the airline industry.

The US$25 plus taxes rate is applicable for travel to/from all Caribbean Airlines destinations except London. On the London route, both the first and second checked bags are free for economy passengers.

The new baggage policy also reflects an enhanced business class service, where passengers in business class on all Caribbean Airlines services are allowed three free bags (up to 50 lbs).

Persons travelling on Caribbean Airlines can check our website, www.caribbean-airlines.com, for more details on the new baggage policy, since the purchase date of the ticket can affect the baggage rules applicable.

Thanks to The Gleaner for the opportunity to share this information.
