Strays pose grave threat to St Thomas motorists
On May 3, 2015, about 7 p.m., travelling from Portland to Kingston, on reaching Prospect in St Thomas, a cow smashed the bonnet of my Honda Stream motor car, causing severe damage.
An eyewitness said that a herd has been causing problems not only to motorists, but to farmers as well. I made a report to the Morant Bay police (of course, they don't know who owns these cows). Now I have more than $600,000 in damage.
We are taxed to use the roads. Insurance has to be paid, among other expenses, yet no measures are in place to protect us. Will the authorities only take action if and when it happens to a tourist?
