Such bravery by gay man
THE EDITOR, Sir:
I want to commend Dervin Osbourne for sharing his story in a column on May 16. I cannot imagine the discomfort and horror of being gay in school, particularly within a society that is so hostile towards homosexuality. Being a teenager is hard enough without the added pressure.
Perceptions have improved and will continue to do so. As we progress as a region, I truly believe each generation will be less judgemental and hateful. It takes voices like yours to do it.
Keep up the good work. May the society remember that kindness should always be our first goal.
