Wheel and come again, buggery backers
THE EDITOR, Sir:
The gay agenda has failed in recent years to gain real traction in Jamaica, despite pointed efforts of the gay lobby on all fronts.
The recent Gleaner polls made it plain! More than 90 per cent of Jamaicans oppose buggery, and still support the anti-buggery laws in Jamaica remaining on the books!
The LGBT interests in Jamaica will have to 'wheel and come again', but while the gay-rights lobbyists lick their wounds from losing the most recent battles in Jamaica, they certainly will not be laying down arms!
What we should now expect, and it is becoming evident, is an intensification of efforts to get the gay agenda foisted on the Jamaican people via back-door methods, or by international arm-twisting, especially using economic blackmail, to get Parliament to circumvent a majority vote people's referendum - using the shortcut method of influencing the minority to dictate for the majority! We should never let that happen in Jamaica.
Let the people democratically decide by way of a referendum what is best for them in a matter so fundamental and dear to their hearts.
