People's Report: NWC - Do what I say, not as I do

As a jogger at the Mona Reservoir, I noticed in January 2015 that a pipe on the premises was dripping. Despite the fact that this pipe is in a very visible location, I spoke with National Water Commission (NWC) employees about fixing this pipe on five separate occasions. Each time I was assured that the leak would be addressed.

Five months later, the leak has now become a running pipe. I had a telephone conversation with a high-ranking official in the customer service division at NWC who vehemently assured me that the pipe would be fixed by the following day. Twelve days later, the pipe is still unfixed, wasting thousands of gallons of precious water.

For those of us who experience water lock-offs daily, this is very disturbing, as the 'do-as-I-say, but-not-as-I-do' stance that NWC has taken is totally unacceptable .

I am hoping that bringing this situation to your attention may assist in expediting some action, as the NWC ought to practise what it preaches, and need not waste this precious commodity that it urges us not to take for granted.
