People's Report: Standing up for Cornwall Beach
We must applaud St James parish councillor Charles Sinclair for exposing another plan to deprive the Jamaican people of access to the Cornwall public beach.
His Gleaner column 'Don't take Cornwall Beach from locals' (June 19, 2015) is another example of the callousness of a mayor who has little regard for the people of Montego Bay and St James. Cornwall Beach is one of the better public beaches in the parish. It has been a source of enjoyment for the general public for decades.
Now the beach is being transferred into the tentacles of another all-inclusive hotel, under a cloak of deception. The public is now being redirected to a beach with the inviting name of 'Dump-Up Beach', which lacks changing rooms and is threatened by pollution.
