Raise standard of non-traditionals
THE EDITOR, Sir:
It is my desire to see emphasis placed on schools that Jamaicans view as 'non-traditional'. If every year when students pass for these schools, parents seek transfers, the problem will not be fixed.
I implore the Government to select at least two non-traditional schools each year and place great emphasis on their transformation into institutions to which parents would want to send their children. This could possibly involve shuffling the board, principal and teachers, as well as strong government and media presence highlighting all the possibilities of this particular school.
