Thank you, Sergeant Hanna

I don't know if it qualifies as a miracle, but on Sunday, June 28, I met the most polite, pleasant and professional (on duty) policeman I have ever encountered in my life in Jamaica. His name is Sergeant Hanna and he is in charge of the Prospect Police Station in St Mary.

We met him when three of us entered the station to ask if we could use their restroom. Sergeant Hanna, from the get-go, immediately welcomed us and cheerfully led us to the facility. How unlike his female colleague at the Castleton Police Station some months before when I made a similar request. The various versions of 'screw face' and grumbling that she displayed could have led one to believe we had requested she take a pay cut!

If the force had more Sergeant Hannas, it would go a far way in improving the very poor reputation that members of the force have earned for themselves by their boorishness and arrogance.

Thank you, Sergeant Hanna, you were like a breath of fresh air.
