What is joke to you is ...

THE EDITOR, Sir:

Dr Carl Williams claimed that his perfect grade "10 out of 10" response to the question regarding the rating of his performance was indeed "likkle joke" and should not be taken seriously.

I believe it takes a big man to apologise, and while I commend Dr Williams for clarifying this hair-raising statement that had concerned Jamaicans, I must make haste to remind people that we Jamaicans 'nuh kin teet' every time. Hence, utmost care and consideration must be taken when making statements in public, especially those relating to death.

In the face of mounting crime, I hardly find it a joke to even insinuate that all is well. No way!

It would be better for us all to seek spiritual intervention as Minister Peter Bunting advised. So far, no government has proven it has the ability to satisfactorily combat crime in Jamaica.
