Movie nuisance while riding Knutsford Express

THE EDITOR, Sir:

I couldn' t agree more with the letter from Maurice Tomlinson in The Gleaner of July 24, 2015. I had an occasion to travel between Kingston and Montego Bay return on Knutsford Express recently. I found the service to be excellent, with the exception of being subjected to the sound from a movie on both journeys.

While the movie on the 5 a.m. from Kingston to Montego Bay did not start until we left Ocho Rios en route to Montego Bay, it was still an intrusion, and there was no escape. We were a captive audience, and those who may have preferred to sleep, read or do some work had no choice but to be subjected to the sounds from the movie.

Even though some persons may welcome the movie/music, I do not think that all passengers must be subject to this intrusion. Those who want to listen to music or watch a movie could be asked to bring their own personal device/headphones so as not to disturb others.

While I think the Knutsford Express is an excellent and much-needed service, I would be hesitant about travelling with them again.
